What do a therapist, a fortune teller, and a ballet teacher have in common?
They all get paid to preach about balance. Count me in, because I'm all about life's balancing act. But I'm not talking about more yoga classes or mindfulness podcasts. I believe in balancing the naughty and the nice, the good habits and the bad. After all, no one can be good all the time, right?

For those who don't know, I'm a full-time nerd at one of the finest institutes (not to brag...), I work tirelessly in the finance sector, and I keep a very naughty personal life. I like to think of my life as a fine full-course meal: my studies are the starters, my work is the main course, and my personal life is the oh-so-delicious dessert. By exploring life's naughty pleasures, I balance the other parts of my meal, which, in retrospect, acts as a stress reliever. I also practice balance in my finances—I splurge on fabulous bags and shoes but stick to cheap 7/11 sandwiches or cans of beans. Naughty and nice.
Throughout life, I've been a nerd and a rule follower because that's what I was supposed to do, avoiding consequences like a typical people pleaser. But one day, I realized I have something called free will, and it's not like anyone's going to give me a gold plaque for being a good girl. Right? I feel like my life is finally balancing out because I've grabbed the balancing pole. I grew up dirt poor, so I got myself a scholarship, a well-paid job, and a well-paid personal life. I was a social outcast growing up, so I ditched the glasses and lost the weight. Now, I feel like the belle of the ball. I hope you'll become your own belle of the ball, as long as you get back by midnight. ;)
